Please respond on BFD for WCPN's are bloggers journalists show tomorrow

Here’s the question – after you read it, go to Brewed Fresh Daily and post an answer for Dan Moulthrop.

Dan Moulthrop asked me to post this:

Can you pose the question to your readers?

Are bloggers journalists?

The question’s all about what’s happening in Clermont County. Pho has the best breakdown I’ve seen:

http://phosnorkapages.blogspot.com/2007/03/clermont-county-whos-journalist.html

But the question is broader, not just regarding who’s allowed to sit in the press box, but, more importantly, who’s covered by the shield laws that exist in some states. Also, if bloggers are being targeted as journalists, and serving more time in federal pens than journalists (http://joshwolf.net/freejosh/), shouldn’t they be allowed the same credentials and protections?

Please add your opinion. He’d like to read your responses on the air tomorrow.

  1. Yeah – actually in some ways, I wish it would just be allowed to blend into the way consumers like to get their information and stop making it stick out so much – you know?

  2. It could be. I’d like to see this get more face time.Good bloggers, (like you) and faithful readers (like me) disseminate information to others through links.Ranters are obvious and only other ranters take them seriously. Like attracts like in this case.
