OEA sues, wants ODE to hold charters accountable

Love it love it love it.

White Hat – we know that WCPN didn’t put your VP of the Life Skills Center, Rod Coker, under oath. But in a court of law…

Serious hattip to Bill Sloat.

  1. Unique – I really don’t know the answers re: the auditor’s options. The last auditor also had big $$ from White Hat/David Brennan and she didn’t go after them either. Just not sure.

  2. Well, King, I’m sure you know as well as I do that no one can make you do anything. I say that to my kids all the time when they say, you made me late or you made me mad or whatever. So when you say that you’re forced to read this stuff…I don’t know – I’m pretty good at ignoring a lot of material that you might think I should be reading. Now – as for being unable to understand, and here I’m launching into complete seriousness:What would be really instructive, and maybe an enlightening and even bridge-building debate, would be to explore what is it about how I think that you don’t understand.I believe through that we would discover that you may misunderstand what it is I’m thinking (and I could just as easily be misunderstanding you too). Then, we can clear that up and figure out what common interests we share and then work from there toward a solution. If you do it, I’ll do it – so – what is it that you don’t understand, I will explain. As for what I don’t understand – I don’t understand who you mean by “the people trying to tear the country apart” – who do you mean and what do you mean?

  3. Jill I read this because it is almost impossible for me to understand how people think like you guys do.To counter the people trying to tear the country apart, I am forced to read this stuff

  4. *”the state auditor received around $30K over the years from the biggest charter operator. Wonder how she’s going to conduct herself.”*I missed that on the first pass – I wonder. Can auditors recuse themselves? Is there a precedent for this?

  5. King, I know you are not alone in your line of thinking. Here’s what I think about that. And I do really like knowing that you read this blog. I subscribe to yours via Bloglines.

  6. yes this is very nice. Now that state needs to crack down on the real crooks – teachers unions, NEA, OEA, ODE, & OBE.The traditional public schools are just as, if not more, wasteful and unproductive as the charters. The NEA has been compared to “Brown Shirts”. When should the public schools be held accountable?

  7. Lawyers love discovery. Well, actually, paralegals love discovery – it keeps them employed. No doubt there will be a lot of discovery in this case. But here’s a twist: the state auditor received around $30K over the years from the biggest charter operator. Wonder how she’s going to conduct herself.
