Bennett lawyer postpones again for scheduling conflict-still trying to clear his name from a fraud lawsuit

From OPENERS:

The hearing to remove Cuyahoga County elections board Chairman Bob Bennett has been postponed until April 16. This is the second postponement of the hearing, which was first scheduled for April 2.

Bennett’s lawyer requested the delay because of scheduling conflicts. Bennett, the head of the state GOP, is the only board member remaining. The other three resigned under pressure from Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

The April 16 hearing will begin at 9 a.m. in Euclid City Hall, 585 E. 222nd St., in the city council chambers.

No indication as to the precise conflict, but you can read here about the ongoing legal troubles for Mr. Chesley. If Mr. Bennett cared about the voters of this county, I’d think that he’d try to figure out a way to expedite this thing, one way or the other, and might not have chosen an attorney so far away and busy. You know, service above self? But what do I know.

  1. Wow – really? I haven’t seen a photo of him – will have to google. Yeah – you know, you’d think Bennett would know exactly who would best serve him.

  2. I saw Bennett’s lawyer on WOSU’s State of Ohio program on Friday.First its a measure of how old I’m getting that he seemed to be about 17 years old, but more importantly the guy couldn’t string three words together without a stumble or an ‘um’.Didn’t look too good for Bennett’s chances.
