ABJ LTE: Mandel’s inability to manage time indicates need for simpler job

From the Akron Beacon Journal

Overwhelmed
by the job

I have read that Josh Mandel, the state treasurer, is too busy in his current job to speak to the Akron Press Club, and, in effect, to his constituents. He apparently has been unable to do so all year.

This proves that his current job is too much for him, if he cannot make a little time to speak to the public.

After all, he is running against U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown for a more important job.

I’m sure that there is a simpler job Mandel might be able to handle. May I suggest dogcatcher?

  1. Rumor has it that US Rep Steve LaTourette, when asked by “the guys in Columbus” as to whether he wanted Pepper Pike in his redistricted district said no – because he didn’t want “that blogger councilwoman.”

Pretty nutsy when a multi-term congressman might fear having someone who blogs in his district and someone who won’t even use his or her real name calls the publication of a letter to the editor written by someone else “stalking.”

I guess Eric Fingerhut was right – I am “very powerful.”. Well – even my kids think I’m scary so there’s always that too.
